The Industry

The modern chiropractic profession is an ever-growing mosaic with a multitude of ideologies and techniques. This can largely be boiled down to two dichotomies: Traditional Chiropractic care and Evidence-Based care.

Traditional Chiropractic care largely centers around chiropractic theories and philosophies of vertebral misalignments that need to be corrected through manipulation to restore function and neurologic communication along with reductions in pain throughout the spinal column and associated nerves. However, research largely does not support this direction of care and demonstrated benefits are either unlikely or coincidental.

Evidence-Based care is predicated upon utilizing researched examination procedures and interventions that have been clinically shown to provide benefits to an individual. The foundation of being an evidence-based provider is to be sure that the prescribed course of care is backed by peer-reviewed articles and texts in order to maximize patient outcomes.

How We Differ

Chiropractic care has many schools of thought regarding patient management. Below is how PhysioDelta compares traditional practices.

PhysioDelta

  • Specificity: PhysioDelta is keen on prescribing a specific management plan to each individual based on their unique needs and goals, because what may work for one patient may not for another - even with the same diagnoses.

  • Accuracy: each assessment is highly detailed through a comprehensive history and hands-on assessment to gain the greatest understanding of each complaint then incorporated into a patient-specific management plan .

  • Variety: we utilize a thorough array of interventions such as myofascial release and rehabilitative protocols to provide a multimodal approach to mold each intervention to a patient's specific diagnosis and objective.

Traditional Practices

  • Specificity: Traditional Practices often utilize a "cookie-cutter" ideology of prescribing all patients the same regimen to fit an all-encompassing chiropractic philosophy.

  • Accuracy: most practices limit their assessments to a brief verbal consultation and occasional unnecessary x-rays to provide patients with generalized diagnoses such as "low back pain" rather than "localized lumbar facet syndrome with sclerotogenous referral to the right gluteal region," etc.

  • Variety: many chiropractors strictly utilize chiropractic manipulation to spinal segments as the sole intervention for all patients; many chiropractors do not use supplementary therapies such as myofascial release or therapeutic rehab.
